The masterclass will focus on the repertoire for strings with or without continuo from the early seventeenth century to the age of Haydn e Mozart. (baroque and/or classical instruments, gut strings). The location is in Montecastelli Pisano, a medieval village in the heart of Tuscany, at “Il Poggio Science & Music”, a building dating from the early thirteenth century, where people from the worlds of science and music meet and work.

We are happy to announce that Giovanni Antonini and Giardino Armoninco have been nominated for the 63nd Annual Grammy Awards 2021 with the record “Farinelli” together with Cecilia Bartoli. The Grammy 2021 winners will be announced on 31 January. We could win the award for the third time, fingers crossed!

Giovanni Antonini, virtuoso flautist and orchestral conductor, is the founder of the Italian ensemble Il Giardino Armonico, which burst on the baroque musical scene in 1985; together they have amassed an impressive discography.
